UOE TRIP 1 DAY 4.2 BY TRUCK INTO THE COUGA VALLEY AND ROGERS FARM

The water shortage at the base dam is as a result of poor maintenance of infrastructure, poor planning. They pump a million liters of water every day for this little town. 600 000 of those liters is leaked out, every day. What we have are these old metal pipes, from donkey years back, and as you know, fynbos water is slightly acidic, so what’s happening is that those pipes are being eroded and eaten away. They pop anywhere and everywhere.

The people in the local area work on fruit farms. Service is exceptional in the area.
